Quality LED Lights

A few years ago we got a Christmas tree with LED lights. LED lights are known for flickering when filmed on camera. Flickering happens because of the 60Hz alternating current (AC) power supply they are connected to in our houses. High-quality lights have a driver that suppose to reduce flicker, but the quality varies significantly by manufacturer.

These lights were especially bad. I could see them strobing with peripheral vision especially if the room was dark and I in motion. Luckily, in the last 3 years, LEDs got much better. Philips created EyeComfort brand backed up by the white paper describing the problems they had to solve.

I recorded some of these lights in slow-mo:

Hope it will help others who are sensitive to LED light flicker. I wonder how many weirdos like myself are out there lol
